Nicholas Coke was born with a rare condition called anencephaly that caused him to never grow a brain, only a brain stem. Doctors gave him just a few hours to live and miraculously this baby just celebrated his 2nd birthday.

To me, this is a vehicle that left the station without it's driver. Its just a shell without an occupant. My personal opinion is that its very selfish to bring to term a SENTIENT baby that will live in constant pain and die in agony. Having said that, this baby had no feeling, he felt no pain or joy. And maybe this baby is exactly what that mother needed to bring her closer to her truth. I believe there are no coincidences.

he isn't suffering. he has no brain. think of this like... a jelly fish. doesn't feel, doesn't want, doesnt yearn, doesn't long. he most likely doesnt even know he exists, or has no concept of what anything IS...

This is asinine. Without a brain, there is NO CONSCIOUSNESS WHATSOEVER... so how could it be an "individual"? Merely being unique isn't enough.

Yeah, separating you from everyone else by calling them humans wont bring you any attention at all.You're trying to be "special" because I'm assuming that your parents didn't give you the attention you needed as a child, and still i give you no pitty.

No they can't. They're trying to, but they don't currently have that technology. Just as an aside, I do agree with you that if I had this kid's life and could choose to end it, I would.

Actually they can grow a brain now... or make a hybrotic prosthetic system that is as good or better than a brain. Just because you are too stupid to do something does not mean everyone is.
