A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Has Been Set to Guard the Lord's Flock. By Father Brian Harrison.

Today July 1st, 2023, Francis took one of the most revolutionary steps so far in his decade-long novelty-studded pontificate.

He has appointed his fellow-Argentinian, Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernández, the main theologian behind Amoris Laetitia, as the new Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Fernández has a long track record of promoting the modernist idea of the evolution of doctrine, claiming (wrongly) that the magisterium has contradicted itself on religious liberty and slavery, and that this sets a precedent for further evolution on … you guessed it, sexual morality.

In an essay he promoted the sophistry that while indeed divorced and remarried Catholics who remain sexually active are in an "objective state of mortal sin", they can nevertheless sometimes be absolved in the confessional and receive sanctifying grace without a firm purpose of amendment, and so receive Communion.

How does Fernández try to justify this position? Well, the Catholic doctrine that most of us have learned since adolescence does indeed recognize that the guilt of a sin involving grave matter can be subjectively diminished or even eliminated for one of two reasons:
1) inculpable ignorance that the act is gravely contrary to the moral law; or
2) lack of full consent of the will in committing that act.

However Fernández has invented two more exculpating circumstances unknown to Catholic moral theology (but which he persuaded Francis to include in Amoris Laetitia).

He claims that in some situations a woman (for instance) can be in the state of grace and approach Communion even though she knows that Christ's law calls her activity adultery, and gravely forbids it, and even though she gives her full consent of the will to carry on doing it (i.e., she has a firm purpose of non-amendment!).

Our new Chief Doctrinal Guardian claims she will still retain sanctifying grace with that disposition if either:

3) she doesn't understand why Christ's teaching should apply to her in her situation, or
4) if she is incapable of obeying that teaching.

But option 4) runs up against the infallible teaching of the Church that God does not command the impossible, so will always give us the grace to obey his commandments and avoid at least mortal sin.

And option 3) amounts to claiming that we Catholics are under no obligation to form our consciences by submitting our own judgment to what we know is Christ's teaching, even if we don't fully understand the reasons for it. But that claim is just a new form of the old Protestant heresy of 'private judgment', which rejects the authority of the Church to form and bind consciences.

In short, friends, a wolf in sheep's clothing has been set to guard the Lord's flock.

The crisis in the Church has overnight become much deeper. The kind of moral reasoning set forth by this new doctrinal 'guardian' will all too easily lend itself to a similar "evolution" in doctrine that will allow practicing homosexuals to receive absolution and Communion.

So this new appointment seems right in line with preparations for the upcoming "Synod on Synodality", at which the homosex ideology will be unleashed.

And it gets worse! Just in case our new Prefect might be thinking that as CDF Prefect he may now have to change some of his progressivist ways and adopt a more cautious or conservative approach to doctrine, Francis has taken pains to disabuse him of any such scruples, right from Day One!

Francis declared in a personal letter to Fernández that his predecessors in this Congregation/Dicastery (including perhaps, the late Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI?) used "immoral" methods which the new incumbent must studiously avoid! Francis says:

"The Dicastery over which you will preside in other times came to use immoral methods. Those were times when, rather than promoting theological knowledge, possible doctrinal errors were pursued. What I expect from you is certainly something very different."

Unbelievable. The Successor of Peter, whose chief duty is to hand down, pure and incorrupt, the "faith once delivered to the saints" (Jude, v.7), is publicly and explicitly telling his chief adviser on doctrine not to "pursue" "possible doctrinal errors".

Further on his letter Francis tells Fernández that theologians should not be "content with a desk-bound theology” or with “a cold and harsh logic that seeks to dominate everything”.

On these terms it will be open season for modernism, and open season on orthodoxy.

Enough. Prayer and penance will more than ever be our main weapons now.

Mother of Salvation: The Truth will be twisted and the Word of God will be presented back to front

January 1, 2014 @ 1:44 pm
My child, please encourage all of God’s children to persevere during the trials, which are to come. So many challenges will face all Christians, who will have to witness the wicked apostasy which will be paraded before them by those they will seek guidance from, in order to live whole Christian lives.
Those who are to be appointed shortly, in the highest echelons of my Son’s Church on Earth, will not be from God. They will not serve my Son and will change many doctrines and laws within the Church. So quickly will they bring about such changes, with many new books, missals and letters being introduced, that you will know then that such works would have taken years to prepare. It would not be possible to introduce such radical changes in so many formats, were this not the case. This will be one of the first signs where you can be sure that this soon-to-be-introduced, twisted doctrine will have been created with great care.
Many people will not recognise these changes in the Church and those who do will applaud them, for they will assuage the guilt they will feel because of their sins. Finally, they will be relieved, for now it will

mean that they will be able to openly proclaim their acceptance of all things which offend God. For, if the Church declares sin to be a natural thing and part of human nature, then this means, surely, that sin is no longer important.
Then, by declaring the importance of looking after the world’s poor and hungry, they will deem themselves to be holy in God’s Eyes.
When my Son is denied publicly and when His Word is twisted, great care will be put into great public acts of charity. This will divert attention away from the reality. It will create diversion and finally the True Word of God will no longer be discussed. When all religions are brought under one roof and where the views of the heathen are treated with great respect, then people will be afraid to stand up and declare the Truth. If and when they dare to do this, they will be accused of blasphemy.
The day is quickly approaching when to declare yourself a true Christian and when you remind people of the Word of God, then you will be accused of heresy. The Truth will be twisted and the Word of God will be presented back to front. Nothing will be orderly. Nothing will make sense in the new rules soon to be introduced into the Church of my Son. It is important that no matter how unpopular you may become, you must always remain true to the Word of God.

Faithful good traditional/conservative or people just wanting to be good Catholics, UNITE EN MASSE...... and I mean all groups. Put away your petty little differences, (we all know Bergoglio is not a legit Pope), group together, garner support form Millions of Catholics everywhere. VArious Catholic traditional movements , sede-vacantist groups, traditional religious Orders, SSPX, ICRSP,IBP, CMRI, all......buy a piece of property about the size of what Rome was about 1950 when we had a real Pope, and build a copy of the Eternal City exactly as it was. Priests and bishops who join in this movement, elect a substitute Pope, who will create traditional CArdinals. It will be a substitute Vatican, substitute St. Peter's, and the substitute Pope will be the True Vicar of CHrist....and he and his successors will keep their office until the ancient city of Rome and the original See of Peter returns to the Catholic Faith and tradition.
This notion of people just sitting at home, or in a Church and praying for better times is ridiculous. Action is needed.....not individuals or tiny groups praying for Pope Francis "conversion", etc. etc.
I gurantee....by this decision of his today......IT WON'T HAPPEN.
STORM HEAVEN WITH PRAYERS TO REMOVE FRANCIS AND HIS AGENDA, YES. BUT ALSO ACT TO SAVE AND RESTORE OUR CHURCH....BECAUSE IT'S CERTAIN FRANCIS WON'T. HE AND HIS PEOPLE ARE INTENT ON DESTROYING IT, NOT PRESERVING IT.

Simply without the need for substitute Seat of Vatican... Unless if the antichurch members would refuse to abandon occupied premises... I doubt such scenario for now as mainstream traditionalists are wavering in fear of being excommunicated and cheering Bergoglio in destroying despised Novus Ordo reality... I truly feel sorry for so many Catholics who are afraid of Francis and his tyranny. My family is unique in a way. All my brothers and sisters (8 including me), and cousins are of Japanese ancestry, but we were all born in the USA. I'm 28. My Mom and Dad were born in the USA too, but all my grandparents came from Japan. Our family has been Catholic since the 1590's, converted thru the work of early Spanish Jesuits and the great St. Francis Xavier. The sad thing is that my family suffered for the Catholic Faith in Japan from the 16th to the 19th centuries and gave up manyt of opportunities to stay Catholic. But now, thanks to the Novus Ordo both in Japan and the USA, and especially since Francis in 2013....most of my family in USA or Japan does not go to Mass at all. One cousin in California became Greek Orthodox.
I think in order to remain a good Catholic....in this era of heretic Francis and his people, we have 4 choices....1) Stay in the Novus Ordo and accept the heresy of Francis , or try to overthrow his agenda, 2) Go to the SSPX or other traditional groups, or 3) Change religions ( convert to Greek Orthodox or something similar), and last, 4) Don't go to any church at all. I think of the 4 choices, the worst , and also the cowardly choice, is #4. The bravest, and those more people are taking to, are #1 and 2.
Hopefully soon, we won't have to make choices......Francis and his people will be gone, the "Synodal Church" will disappear on its own.....the new Pope will be at least supportive of Catholic tradition, and we will live in peace with people either going to the dying Novus Ordo Church, or the growing traditional Catholic Church without fearing persecution by a sick, sadistic heretical regime in the VAtican.

His Jesuit charisma helps to discern the weaknesses and strengths of the trads for playing them out , especially those who opt for full reconciliation with Rome feeling subjectively as outsiders. So the deal was made Sacraments for loyalty while the rest of tradition is persecuted. That's how he successfully divided tradition and thereby prevented a unified resistance movement. More precise analysis are available from Bp. Williamson. Lets hope the divided Church will soon unite and have a Catholic pope continuing pope Benedicts' XVI return to tradition going back to restoring the Holy Week and Corpus Christi Octave celebration in the universal Church, (excluding options 3 & 4. ;) )..

Francis may well be the fulfillment of St Francis' prophecy and a false prophet,,,, Therefore day by day the operation of resistence and an imperfect Council to elect Catholic pope is increasingly justified ....

The one good consolation in all this, is that the photograph posted of Francis and Fernandez, taken a few days ago, shows Francis in steep health decline. HIs face is completely sunken, and he is not smiling in the photo.....just standing. He looks like someone who is not at all well. Shall we begin to hope that he's swiftly nearing an exit?

@SonoftheChurch It's only the cardinal electors whom he has appointed that matter. Those are 81. 40 cardinals still predate him. By later in September (around the time I expect we'll have a sede vacante) that will be 38. Of those there only only 4 or bad remaining ones (Marx, Tagle, Gracias, Schonborn and possibly de Avis) and 4 are uncertain but have probably been turned against Francis and one likely won't partake (Ricard from France).

There will be 28 (solidly) orthodox cardinals who predate Francis (more than 2/3 of the cardinals who were appointed by Popes who don't have Francis legitimacy) problems out of 119-117/6 who will vote in the conclave. Francis added 17 certainly orthodox cardinals to them who completely oppose the synodal stuff (Muller, Arborelius, Bo, Ladaria, Jean-Pierre Kutwa, Marengo, Okpaleke, Goh). Together they'll be at least 45 (or being pessimistic and discpunting 1 or 2, 44 or 43) and able to veto another Bergoglio.

Then there are unclear centrist ones he added like more Africans Kambanda, Furtado, Besungu, Middle Eastern ones like Coutts and I Sako and more Asian cardinals like Advincula from the Philippines (no Tagle it seem), Manyo Maeda a bishop from Japan appointed by Pope Benedict XVI (walked in the march for life), Mangkhanekhoun a prisoner of the Communists in Laos for years...
