2nd book of Kings 2,1.6-14. When the LORD was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, he and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, "Please stay here; the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan." "As the LORD lives, and as you yourself live," Elisha replied, "I will not leave you." And so the two went on together. Fifty of the guild prophets followed, and when the two stopped at the Jordan, stood facing them at a distance. Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up and struck the water, which divided, and both crossed over on dry ground. When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask for whatever I may do for you, before I am taken from you." Elisha answered, "May I receive a double portion of your spirit." "You have asked something that is not easy," he replied. "Still, if you see me taken up from you, your wish will be granted; otherwise not." As they walked on conversing, a flaming chariot and flaming horses came between them, and Elijah went up to heaven …More

Worse than Germany: On Friday, Archbishop Mario Delpini of Milan, Italy, presided over a homosexual Eucharist at the Church of San Carlo al Lazzaretto. The church is located in Milan's homosexual district. The Eucharist was organised by the homosexual propaganda association ‘Gruppo del Guado’. The poster advertising the event depicted a rainbow-coloured church and noted that the celebration would take place on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. According to LaNuovaBq.it, during his homily, Monsignor Delpini said: 'The Lord has bound himself to you and chosen you not because you are the largest group, in fact you are the smallest, but because he loves you.' A participant posted a photo on Instagram of the T-shirt he was wearing when approaching to receive Communion. The T-shirt showed Jesus dressed in rainbow colours with the words 'Ah Men' above his head. This plays on the similarity between the term 'Amen' and the English expression 'Ah, men!' ("Ah, men.") - an explicit reference …More
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6,1-6.16-18. Jesus said to his disciples: "Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father. When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. …More

Christian Nationalism’s Dark Forebears nytimes.com/…/14/opinion/christian-nationalism-ma… June 14, 2026 By David French Opinion Columnist I just finished an extraordinarily illuminating book. It’s not new — it was first published in 2001 — but if you follow the growth and influence of Christian nationalism in the United States, it feels fresh. It’s by the British historian Julian Jackson, an expert on the French experience in World War II, and it’s called “France: The Dark Years, 1940-1944.” It’s about the regime that emerged after France’s catastrophic defeat in World War II. And as strange as this might sound, reading about the Vichy government is like reading a MAGA Christian fever dream. The nation that the Catholic Vichy nationalists constructed in the unoccupied portion of France is very much like the world that American Christian nationalists are trying to build. If you read the words “Vichy France,” to the extent that they register at all, one word is likely to come to …More
Israel’s entire political, defense and media establishment is foaming at the mouth over the Iran deal, calling Trump a traitor and going after Netanyahu for kicking off the disastrous misadventure in the first place. But in the prime minister’s inner circle, ministers vow to fight on, alone if necessary, as Trump signals he’s done. “Israel reserves the right to act independently against Iran’s nuclear program” and won’t withdraw from occupied Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank, Defense Minister Katz declared. “Trump’s agreement does not bind us,” National Security Minister Ben-Gvir assured. “We will have to continue the campaign to topple the regime ourselves and in creative ways,” Finance Minister Smotrich tweeted. Bad idea A one-on-one war between Israel and Iran wouldn’t just end in tears for Tel Aviv. It would threaten the Jewish State with a disaster on a biblical scale: The Israeli Air Force is hopelessly dependent on US aerial refueling support for strike …More
