On the anniversary of his election, Benedict XVI told the young seminarians gathered in New York that for Christians the most urgent challenge is to communicate the joy that comes from the faith. And even if the towers of the skyscrapers are higher than the cathedrals and the churches, they remind us that the spirit of man aspires to rise to God. Yesterday, the whole city came to a halt as the popemobile drove down Fifth Avenue.
During the intense day in New York, the Pope also had a touching meeting with a group handicapped people. To them and their families, he recalled that a deficit can become an occasion for a new life.
