The nativity scene unveiled in the Vatican on 9 December is surprisingly beautiful.
It pays tribute to the first nativity scene installed by St Francis of Assisi in Greccio in 1223.
However, it contains a historical blunder. In the background, a Franciscan celebrates Holy Mass with the back to God. Removing God from the centre of the liturgy by introducing a people's altar was a novelty introduced only in the late sixties.
Previous Vatican nativity scenes have featured controversial figures, including half-naked men.

I am not one to defend anything coming out of the Vatican these days, but, this is art. It looks to me like the altar is facing towards the crib, no? The Papal altar at St. Peter’s has always faced, truly, to the east, which happens to be towards the people as well.

Nee Petrus Jezus keerde zich naar God. Maar u probeert continue de ketterse organisatie van de Rooms Katholieke kerk te verdedigen die iedereen die het Universele geloof van voor het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie belijdt vervolgt en kapot probeert te maken. Het begint langzamerhand criminele trekjes te krijgen.

In some places bishops explicitly allowed the practice. Father Ellard quotes from two pastoral letters written by French bishops in 1945 and 1946, both making explicit allowance for Mass facing the people. He also describes the altar of a Church in Burlington, Vermont, built so that the priest can celebrate facing in either direction, and comments approvingly:
Perhaps in this double provision it is the real prototype of the setting of the Sacrifice of the Future. (p. 270)

Paus Paulus de Vl was een persoonlijke vriend van de leider van de Euro Communisten en paus Franciscus was de leider van de linkse bevrijdingsbewegingen in zuid Amerika. Daardoor is onze mooie Rooms Katholieke kerk afgegleden, gedegradeerd tot een politieke partij die Traditionele Rooms Katholieke gelovigen vervolgd. Maar de maatschappij veranderd snel, terwijl de crisis in de Rooms Katholieke kerk zich versneld en verdiept, bij het volgende Conclaaf zal de Rooms Katholieke kerk in duizenden kleine stukjes uiteen vallen.
