The wrong friend: In an interview with CNBC, U.S. President Obama was asked about the Pope’s recent comments that the Church allegedly had become too obsessed with gay rights and abortion. Obama’s answer: "I been hugely impressed with the Pope's pronouncements. He seems like somebody who lives out the teachings of Christ, incredible humility, an incredible sense of empathy to the least of these, the poor." He added: "He is also someone who is first and foremost thinking how to embrace people instead of pushing them away; how to find what's good in them, as opposed to condemn them."
Memorizing the Catechism: The U.S. magazine The Atlantic complains about a – quote – "new problem in Ireland: Where to find a non-Catholic school?”.
