Does a Vatican Dicastery doubts that FSSPX Marriage faculties have been revoked? The Vatican’s Dicastery for Legislative Texts issued a clarification on August 7, concerning marriages within the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX), according to Guy Lapierre writing on RenaissanceCatholique.fr on October 15. Lapierre writes about a response from the Dicastery for Legislative Texts without naming the addressee or context. The texts states: “The Explanatory Note published on July 2, 2026, by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith states that marriages witnessed by sacred ministers of the Priestly Society of St. Pius X are invalid.
