The Synod on Synodality was an “ironclad manipulation,” Cardinal Joseph Zen, 93, said in his three-minute intervention at the consistory held January 7–8. The text of his speech was published on the Substack account of Edward Pentin CardinalNews.Substack.com. Prior to the consistory, Cardinal Zen was received in private audience by Pope Leo XIV. Synod’s Invocation of the Holy Spirit Verges on Blasphemy In his intervention, Cardinal Zen criticized the late Pope Francis and the synodal process he initiated: “The ironclad manipulation of the process is an insult to the dignity of the Bishops, and the continual reference to the Holy Spirit is ridiculous and almost blasphemous.” Francis, he said, expected “surprises” from the Holy Spirit. Cardinal Zen responded: “What surprises? That He should repudiate what He inspired in the Church’s two-thousand-year Tradition?” Cardinal Zen noted that Francis bypassed the Episcopal College, listened directly to selected members of the laity, and …আরও

[Saint John of the Cross – XVI Century AD; Fontiveros, Crown of Castile, Spanish Monarchy/Ubeda, Crown of Castile, Spanish Monarchy; (Aged 49); Priest, Mystic, Writer, Doctor of the Church] “PROLOGUE 1. IN order to expound and describe this dark night, through which the soul passes in order to attain to the Divine light of the perfect union of the love of God, as far as is possible in this life, it would be necessary to have illumination of knowledge and experience other and far greater than mine; for this darkness and these trials, both spiritual and temporal, through which happy souls are wont to pass in order to be able to attain to this high estate of perfection, are so numerous and so profound that neither does human knowledge suffice for the understanding of them, nor experience for the description of them; for only he that passes this way can understand it, and even he cannot describe it. 2. Therefore, in order to say a little about this dark night, I shall trust neither to …আরও

IN order to expound and describe this dark night, through which the soul passes in order to attain to the Divine light of the perfect union of the love of God, as far as is possible in this life, it would be necessary to have illumination of knowledge and experience other and far greater than mine;"
"2. Therefore, in order to say a little about this dark night, I shall trust neither to experience nor to knowledge, since both may fail and deceive; but, while not omitting to make such use as I can of these two things, I shall avail myself, in all that, with the Divine favour, I have to say, or at the least, in that which is most important and dark to the understanding, of Divine Scripture; for, if we guide ourselves by this, we shall be unable to stray, since He Who speaks therein is the Holy Spirit."
Pope Leo XIV met today with members of the Diplomatic Corps. Key points of his address largely drawing from St Augustine and Benedict XVI and Francis. Main phrases. - This past year saw […] the return to the Father’s house of my venerable predecessor, Pope Francis. The whole world gathered around his coffin on the day of his funeral, and sensed the loss of a father who had guided the People of God with immense pastoral charity. - The weakness of multilateralism is a particular cause for concern at the international level. A diplomacy that promotes dialogue and seeks consensus among all parties is being replaced by a diplomacy based on force, by either individuals or groups of allies. Peace as Domination - War is back in vogue and a zeal for war is spreading. - The principle established after the Second World War, which prohibited nations from using force to violate the borders of others, has been completely undermined. - “Peace” is sought through weapons as a condition for asserting …আরও
Minnesota Diocese Gives ‘Ad Orientem’ Worship a Shot: Unlike the Traditional Latin Mass, which refers to the form of the Roman Rite prior to the reforms of Vatican II, ad orientem is a posture that can be used in the celebration of the post-conciliar Mass.

On 15 December 2025, a teacher at a primary school in Kielno, Poland, asked pupils to remove a cross from the classroom wall. When the pupils refused, the teacher removed the cross herself and threw it into a trash bin. Yesterday, a protest in defense of the cross took place outside the primary school, according to Wiadomosci.Onet.pl. It drew local residents, members of Gazeta Polska Clubs, opposition politicians, and the parents of one of the pupils. Among those present were Members of Parliament Michał Kowalski and Dorota Arciszewska-Mielewczyk from the Law and Justice party (PiS). Following the incident, the Mayor of Szemud Municipality had filed a notification with the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wejherowo concerning the alleged disposal of the cross. Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda of Gdańsk said he expects thorough and reliable explanations from the authorities responsible for the school. Pending clarification of the matter, the school principal suspended the teacher from her duties. …আরও
Several sources confirmed that the Mass in the Roman rite was not mentioned at the consistory on 7–8 January. South African Cardinal Wilfrid Napier, 84, told Edward Pentin that the Roman Latin Mass was not discussed: "I think the main point was how to get the whole Church to evangelise at the same level." Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco, 63, of Algeria, confirmed to Niwa Limbu that they had not discussed any form of liturgy: "We talked about the importance of the Eucharist in the context. of synodality." Only two dozen of the 170 cardinals were able to speak during the 'free interventions'. Speaker of the Vatican press office Matteo Bruni added in the evening that future consistories will be held once a year and last 3–4 days. The next consistory is planned for 27–28 June. #newsZnxlpxmwqb
I agree. It served it's purpose of raising false hopes in those pesky traditionalists to keep "waiting" to see the "real" Leo being his own man apart from Francis' legacy. What did it show? An 'empty suit' 'company man' still guided by Francis & his faithless collaborators!

The 4 themes of the consistory In his address, the Holy Father outlined the four themes that will be discussed during the extraordinary consistory. Two of them are named after papal documents of his predecessor, Francis: the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium and the apostolic constitution Praedicate Evangelium. Evangelii Gaudium, he noted, has to do with “the mission of the Church in today’s world,” while Praedicate Evangelium refers to “the service of the Holy See, especially to the particular Churches.” The third and fourth topics will be “synod and synodality,” as “both an instrument and a style of collaboration,” and “the liturgy, the source and summit of Christian life.” However, he clarified, “due to time constraints and in order to encourage a genuinely in-depth analysis, only two of them will be discussed specifically.” “While each of the 21 groups will contribute to the choice that we will make, the groups that will be reporting will be those nine coming from …আরও
The Light the Darkness Cannot Overcome The darkness covering the earth and the mist obscuring people’s vision are contrasted with the grace given to the Magi, allowing them to seek and worship the newborn King. This grace, a gift from God, enables individuals to recognize and desire truth, despite the prevalent darkness and rejection of goodness and righteousness in the world. The darkness of the world is increasing, but the light of God will always prevail. We must choose to be the light, even in the face of persecution, by relying on God’s grace and allowing His light to shine through us. This means living our faith with charity, mercy, and compassion, remembering that we were once in darkness ourselves. Fr. Altier’s Daily Homilies Fr. Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes, 76, of Managua, Nicaragua, did not attend the consistory held in Rome on 7–8 January. He stated that he was not invited, claiming that he had checked his emails, WhatsApp messages and communications from the College of Cardinals. However, on 8 January, senior Church sources told LaPrensaNi.com that Cardinal Brenes had received an invitation to participate in the consistory but had refused to go for undisclosed reasons. The sources also indicated that there may be ongoing or attempted negotiations with the Nicaraguan government. The Church has faced sustained confrontation with the Ortega regime, resulting in persecution, restrictions on religious activity and the forced exile of several bishops. So..., not a 'computer guy'.... One does have to wonder, however, if he was as oblivious as this about checking his "social media" (in itself not necessarily a bad thing; some prelates - Prevost anyone? - are on it way too much!) before opening his mouth, is this really the kind of 'leadership' the Church requires at the moment ?!
