Vatican Clergy Residence Becomes Four Star Hotel: Leo XIV has approved the conversion of the Domus Internationalis Paulus VI in Rome from a residence for clergy into a four-star hotel. This is confirmed for the first time in the 2025 APSA financial report. Retired cardinals, bishops, former nuncios, and other clergy living in the residence wrote to Leo XIV, asking that the project be halted. But the plan is moving forward and is now in its final stages. The building dates back to the 15th century and became famous in 2013 when, shortly after his election, Pope Francis returned to pay his hotel bill personally.
