Dead at 33: "Look, Dad, I Didn't Change, I Am only Dressed in Brown"
Sister Belén de la Cruz was 33 years old when she died of ovarian cancer in 2018 at the Carmelite convent in San Calixto (Cordoba), Spain. Before joining the Carmelites in 2005, she was a student at …More
Before joining the Carmelites in 2005, she was a student at the elite Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF) in Madrid and the golf champion of Andalusia.
Even as a child, she was very good at sports. She loved cycling, football and golf, but she didn't like competition.
A month before she entered the convent, she won a golf prize in Puerto de Santa María, but on the photo with all the winners, she was missing.
Sister Belén's fame began after her death, her father Estanislao Pery Paredes told ElDebate.com (5 June).
For example: More than 600 people attended her funeral on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Most of them were outside the church, getting wet.
She was 19 or 20 when she wrote her first letter to the prioress of San Calixto, who did not make it easy for her because she was so young. She was 21 when she entered.
The first few months …More

After the closure of Bernini's Baldacchino, Michelangelo's Pietà has now also been closed. From the press release that appeared on the web page of St. Peter's Basilica, basilicasanpietro.va/…the-…More
From the press release that appeared on the web page of St. Peter's Basilica, basilicasanpietro.va/…the-protective-glass-of-michelangelo-s-pieta.html, it is written that from May 27th and until the end of September 2024, i.e. 4 months, it will not be possible to see Michelangelo's Pietà due to the replacement of the protective glass... however, the press release bears the date of May 28th!!!
So first they closed it and the next day they published the statement to warn tourists and the faithful, who, however, found it closed on May 27th.
Excellent organization.
It would have been better to communicate it at least a few weeks in advance and not suddenly, given that it will have been a planned job.
Therefore the faithful and tourists who visit St. Peter's Basilica will not be able to admire either Bernini's Baldachin or Michelangelo's Pietà. Know it first...
Always if it's the truth and there's …More

Robert Francis Kennedy (November 20, 1925 – June 6, 1968), also known by his initials RFK, was an American politician and lawyer. He served as the 64th United States attorney general from January 1961 to September 1964, and as a U.S. senator from New York from January 1965 until his assassination in June 1968, when he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination. Like his brothers John F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, he was a prominent member of the Democratic Party and is an icon of modern American liberalism.

The situation now:
Designated blood donations are usually not done in hospitals anywhere in the UK – there is no free choice of the donor blood. And please note, as clearly stated on our home page at the bottom and below here: There is no place yet in the UK or Ireland, where you can donate uncontaminated blood which is then labeled as such, and there is NO clinic which will allow you to bring your own blood or any other donor of your choice. 10 years ago, yes. Now? Not possible anymore. This is what we go against.
If you hear of such a place, please tell us immediately.
What WE do:
Our acting plans:
We are in the process of setting up a team for the UK, which will try to find the most feasible way to reach our goal, the free choice of blood (and blood donor). This will happen though finding medical partners (hospitals, laboratory chains, private practices etc.), and most importantly, by trying to reduce the need for transfusions …More
