On 2 July, Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Daniel Garcia, 65, as Bishop of Austin, Texas. He was previously Bishop of Monterey, California, and took the new office on 18 September.
Pro-homosexual Bishop Garcia is a among those US bishops who are frantically suppressing the Mass of the Roman rite.
He cancelled two Masses in two different dioceses ten days apart.
On 14 September, Bishop Garcia issued a decree to halt the Mass in Hollister in the Diocese of Monterey.
In Austin, he intervened immediately. This time, he prevented a Mass for students at Texas A&M University on campus, as announced by the group in a press release on 24 September.
The suppression took the form of a last-minute cancellation. The Mass at the university was to be celebrated by a priest from the Diocese of Victoria.

Canonically it must be shown that the liberal bishop interprets Vatican Council II irrationally and not rationally. The conclusion of the Council interpreted rationally is traditional. It supports the ecclesiology of the Roman Missal and the Latin Mass.
The liberal-progessivist bishop interprets LG 14, LG 16 etc in Vatican Council II irrationally and not rationally. This produces exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS), the Syllabus of Errors of Pius IX (ecumenism of return), the Athanasius Creed, the Catechism of Pope Pius X (24 Q, 27Q) etc.
So Tradition is made obsolete. There is schism with the popes of the Middle Ages. This is schism with the Church Fathers. It is not apostolic. There is a new version of the Creeds, and Catechisms, created by confusing what is implicit as being explicit.
NO DENIAL FROM BISHOP
A bishop in public schism, who denies the Creeds, in their original interpretation (without the implicit-explicit confusion), cannot hold the office of a bishop. Canonically, he must be a Catholic and affirm de fide teachings in public.
The liberal bishop ( example in Detroit, Charlotte, Latina etc) interprets Vatican Council II with an irrational premise ( invisible people are visible), irrational inference ( visible cases of LG 16 etc are examples of salvation outside the Church in the present times and so are exceptions for EENS, which has become obsolete) and non traditional conclusion ( Vatican Council is a break with Tradition).The people do not know about all this.
So the Latin Mass is being stopped in many places in the name of Vatican Council II, irrational, i.e. with alleged visible cases of LG 8, 14, 16 etc in 2025 has to be appealed against canonically.
We need a Catholic organization which will support canonically (with canonists) Latin Mass groups objecting to the closure or the Latin Mass. There should be institutional help for lay groups who are not allowed to use the Roman Missal at the Novus Ordo Rite or the Syro Malabar Rite etc. Organizations which can employ a canonist like the SSPX, the U.S Embassy at the Vatican, Archbishop Vigano’s organization in Italy and the USA would be useful.
