He insists the Mass “was never suppressed and never could be.” Burke recalls a bishop with “no attraction” to the Roman rite nevertheless describing its adherents as “some of our most devout Catholics” and asking: “Why would I deny that to them?”

While he is correct that the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) will never be suppressed, it is not for the secular reasons he claims, such as its popularity among young people. Instead, the TLM and the SSPX will endure because of Christ's own promise: the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church.
