Leo XIV Calls for "New International Financial Framework"

Pope Leo XIV published today a video message for the climate World Summit in Vienna, Austria. He called for a "just transition" to new economic models, urged wealthy nations to provide greater financial support, and advocated the development of a new international financial framework. All this is presented within the façade and language of Catholic social teaching and care for creation and the poor. Three key quotes, emphasis added.
- "These challenges [peace, natural resources, climate change] require international cooperation, together with cohesive and forward-looking multilateralism in order to find effective solutions."
- "It is not merely desirable but also genuinely possible that the progress at COP30 [United Nations’ climate summit] can be followed up with a just transition toward societies where the common good takes precedence over profit, and economic models are rooted in solidarity and human dignity. Yet, this requires wealthier countries to meet their obligations to …Yana

Bishop Appointed by Leo XIV Backs ‘Female Pope’ Campaign The Diocese of St. Gallen, Switzerland, launched its "I’m In" ("Ich bin dabei") campaign on May 4 across 25 towns and villages. The billboard, web and social media campaign features clergy, church employees and volunteers posing provocative questions. One poster shows a pastoral worker asking: “Shall we pave the way for the election of the first female Pope?” — followed by the campaign’s signature response: "I’m in." Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Beat Grögli as Bishop of St. Gallen in May 2025, despite his publicly known support for the ordination of women

A 19-year-old college student quietly turns down a job interview, stupidly telling the company it's because he doesn't want to work for a Jew. Within two days: -- The billionaire founder of one of the world's most powerful corporations (Palantir) demands that the company release his the student's to the world. The company instantly complies. -- National media trumpet the incident and spread the student's name and face all over the place. -- A senior Trump DOJ official repeatedly urges the public to notify him if that student is ever hired anywhere in the future, promising to use his office to keep the student permanently unemployable.

Here comes the persecutions. Starting with Carrie. She was the scapegoat. They used her to show us what is in store for us if we get out of line and say one thing against the jews. Or if we complain about this administration. All I can think about is how angry GOD must be with us.

Freedom of speech after the speech, that's the issue.

"All Churches, Mosques, and Synagogues Are Sacred": Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger of Detroit spoke at the dedication of the new mosque in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, on June 5. He said there was nowhere he felt greater honor, fraternity, and kindness, and that he had sensed "the divine presence" from the moment he arrived. Echoing the imam, he said that all present belong to the same human family and described all churches, mosques, and synagogues alike as "sacred" places where God reaches out to humanity - places that would bring "all of humanity" into deeper communion with "our one God."

Protest Now! Dublin Catholic Church to hold LGBT service

Most things you hear today probably would not shock you anymore. For the most part, very little surprises me either. However, one piece of news did shock me. A few days ago, I learnt that St. Teresa's Catholic church in Dublin will be holding an LGBT prayer service.
I don't know about you, but that is shocking. Especially since the Church's teaching is clear - practising homosexuality is a sin.
Answering an Objection - Jesus would never turn people away.
This is true. Our Lord never turns away a humble and contrite heart. He also said that if you love Him, practise His Commandments. Pride flags have previously been displayed all over the interior of this church for previous "LGBT services". This is clearly about accepting and normalising the sin, not about accepting the person.
Answering another objection - we need to welcome everyone.
The most "welcoming" thing a Catholic can do for these people is to show them the truth on the Church's teaching on sexual morality. This would be the …Yana

Dormition Cathedral at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, part of a UNESCO-listed monastery complex, was damaged during a large Russian missile-and-drone attack on Kyiv on June 15. Ukraine blamed Russia for the damage. Moscow denied targeting the site, claiming that it was caused by a malfunctioning U.S.-supplied Patriot air-defense missile.

Cistercian Abbot: Vocations Decline Because We Became Tasteless Salt

In our time, authority is deeply discredited, both in society and in the Church, whether because of excess or deficiency. This was said by Father Francisco Rivera, 46, on June 14 in an interview with VidaNuevaDigital.com.
He was elected on May 20 as the new abbot of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Huerta in Soria, Spain. It is one of Spain’s great monasteries and one of the most important historic houses of the Cistercian Order.
Father Rivera acknowledged that the number of vocations has declined drastically: “We can blame the world, its values or lack of them, young people, social media, and so on. But I believe consecrated life must also undertake a rigorous examination of conscience. Perhaps we have become a kind of tasteless salt. And we know what the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel about that.”
For the new abbot, the best vocation campaign is “to live, in our case, a serious and coherent monastic life, in fidelity to our monastic commitments and to the Rule of Saint …Yana

7 in 10 Want Referendum on Reinstating Death Penalty for Crimes Against Children – Allah's Willing Executioners

In the wake of the murder of an 11-year-old girl that shocked the nation, seven in ten people in France believe that there should be a national referendum to decide whether or not the country should reinstate the death penalty for serious crimes against children.
According to a nationally representative
survey of 1,010 adults by the CSA Institute for CNEWS, 68 per cent of French people would back a national referendum over bringing back capital punishment for major crimes against children.
The poll found that women were more in favour of such a referendum than men, with 70 per cent of women in favour, compared to 66 per cent of men.
Intriguingly, younger voters appear more in favour than their elderly counterparts, with 90 per cent of 18-24 year olds in favour, followed by 72 per cent of 50 to 64 year olds, 67 per cent of 35 to 49 year olds, and just 54 per cent of those 65 and over.
When looking at political affiliation, leftist parties were found to be the least in favour of a referendum …

Italian Archbishops Clash Over Israel: "Antisemit"

Archbishop Franco Moscone of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo has come under criticism after signing a petition calling on the Il Libro Possibile festival to reconsider hosting Israeli novelist Eshkol Nevo.
According to AgenSir on June 15, Monsignor Moscone argued that intellectuals have a duty to speak clearly in the face of injustice. He added that Nevo had failed to provide sufficient "criticism and clarity" regarding the actions of the Israeli government.
He insisted that "the issue is not that Nevo is Israeli."
Festival organizers rejected the petition and confirmed that Nevo will participate as scheduled, noting that the writer has repeatedly spoken in favor of peace.
The initiative triggered sharp reactions within the Italian Church.
Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi, secretary-general of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI), said that "peace is not built by preventing those who think differently from speaking."
Archbishop Carmelo Pennisi of Monreale described the campaign as …Yana

On Saturday, more than 1,000 Catholics took part in a Eucharistic Rosary procession through Derry in Northern Ireland. The procession was part of the first Worldwide Marian Procession, held in conjunction with around 400 parishes and 50 Marian shrines worldwide. The public prayer, which brought the streets to a standstill, was supported by Bishop Donal McKeown of Derry.

Public witness of faith draws crowds to Derry Marian procession

Catholics from all over Ireland gathered to pray in Derry on Saturday as part of the first Worldwide Marian Procession, held in conjunction with hundreds of parishes across the globe. With the support of Derry’s local ordinary, Bishop Donal McKeown, a full day of Marian and Eucharistic devotion was held in the Northern Irish city at the weekend.
Wending its way from the Catholic housing estate of “the Creggan” down through the city in the shadow of its many church spires, the procession saw Catholics take to the streets once more – but with peaceful prayer and joyful hymns.

Leo XIV Praises "Global Jewish Philanthropy"

Today, Pope Leo XIV received a delegation from the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York (UJA-Federation) in the Apostolic Palace.
Founded in 1917, the UJA-Federation is among the world's largest Jewish philanthropic organizations, supporting “the poor”, refugees, and other vulnerable populations in New York, Israel, and more than seventy countries worldwide.
Welcoming the delegation, Leo XIV praised the organization as an instrument of global Jewish philanthropy. It demonstrates a profound commitment to human fraternity that resonates with the Church's own vision of integral human development.
Leo XIV Rejects Discrimination Based on Religion
Leo XIV recalled that sixty-six years ago, in 1960, Pope John XXIII welcomed a delegation from the same organization with the memorable words, "I am Joseph, your brother" (Genesis 45:4).
Then, Leo XIV observed that this encounter helped inspire a new era in Catholic-Jewish relations and contributed to the development of the Second Vatican …Yana
